Glutathione

Health and Longevity
"The Master Anti-oxidant"
Glutathione

Oxidative stress occurs when there’s an imbalance between the production of free radicals and the body’s ability to fight them off. Too-high levels of oxidative stress may be a precursor to multiple diseases. These include diabetes, cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis. Glutathione helps stave off the impact of oxidative stress, which may, in turn, reduce disease.

Glutathione lightens skin by lowering the activity of skin cells which create dark pigments or melanin. This effect helps to minimize the prominence of darker skin patches which usually increase as we age.

IV Infusion is the preferred option for adequate absorption of Glutathione.

What is Glutathione and How Do I Get More of It?

GLUTATHIONE (pronounced “gloota-thigh-own”) is the most important molecule you need to stay healthy and prevent aging, cancer, heart disease, dementia and more, and necessary to treat everything from autism to Alzheimer’s disease. I called it the mother of all antioxidants.

The good news is that your body produces its own glutathione. The bad news is that toxins from poor diet, pollution, toxins, medications, stress, trauma, aging, infections and radiation all deplete your glutathione.

This leaves you susceptible to unrestrained cell disintegration from oxidative stress, free radicals, infections and cancer. And your liver gets overloaded and damaged, making it unable to do its job of detoxification.

How does it work? The secret of glutathione is the sulfur (SH) chemical groups it contains. Sulfur is a sticky, smelly molecule. It acts like fly paper and all the bad things in the body stick onto it, including free radicals and toxins like mercury and other heavy metals. Normally glutathione is recycled in the body — except when the toxic load becomes too great. And that explains why we are in such trouble...

Glutathione is also the most critical and integral part of your detoxification system. All the toxins stick onto glutathione, which then carries them into the bile and the stool — and out of your body. And lastly, it also helps us reach peak mental and physical function. Research has shown that raised glutathione levels decrease muscle damage, reduce recovery time, increase strength and endurance and shift metabolism from fat production to muscle development.

If you are sick or old or are just not in peak shape, you likely have glutathione deficiency. In fact, the top British medical journal, the Lancet, found the highest glutathione levels in healthy young people, lower levels in healthy elderly, lower still in sick elderly and the lowest of all in the hospitalized elderly.

Keeping yourself healthy, boosting your performance, preventing disease and aging well depends on keeping your glutathione levels high. I’ll say it again … Glutathione is so important because it is responsible for keeping so many of the keys to UltraWellness optimized.

It is critical for immune function and controlling inflammation. It is the master detoxifier and the body’s main antioxidant, protecting our cells and making our energy metabolism run well.

And the good news is that you can do many things to increase this natural and critical molecule in your body.

Questions, concerns and extra information

How long does it take glutathione to lighten skin?

Results visible on Light-medium brown skin: 1-3 months, Dark brown skin: 3-6 months, Very dark skin: 6-12 months and Black skin: 18 months minimum and above. A Glutathione efficacy in skin lightening works only if it is taken with Vitamin C at least equal or twice its dosage.

How many glutathione injection should I take for skin whitening?

Manufacturers of intravenous glutathione injections recommend a dose of 600–1200 mg for skin lightening, to be injected once to twice weekly. The duration for which they should be continued is not specified.

Does Glutathione lighten skin permanently?

Its whitening effects are permanent only if you will maintain it (by avoiding exposure to sunlight). You won’t go back to your original skin colour even if you stop taking these supplements, however, there is a tendency for you to be tan or to darken your skin if you expose yourself to sunlight and other harsh elements.

How many shades lighter could I be with glutathione?

The amount of IV sessions of glutathione depends on how many shades lighter you want your skin tone to be. One round of treatment is 10 IV’s that will be performed twice a week for 5 weeks. Typically one round of treatment (10 IV’s) can lighten the skin from 1 to 3 shades lighter.

Is taking glutathione safe?

Glutathione is a very strong antioxidant that the body makes and uses every day. Researchers have associated low levels with several medical conditions. While supplements may be appropriate for some people, they may not be safe for everyone, and they could interact with other medications a person is taking.

What are the side effects and risks?

A diet rich in glutathione-boosting foods does not pose any risks. However, taking supplements may not be advisable for everyone. Talk to your doctor about glutathione to determine if it’s right for you. Possible side effects may include:

  • abdominal cramps

  • bloating

  • trouble breathing due to bronchial constriction

  • allergic reactions, such as rash
